Dr. Karl E. Yurko is the owner of K.E.Y. Animal Hospital. Dr. Yurko's interest in veterinary medicine began in the 1980's under the guidance and friendship of Dr. H.E. Kidder while completing his undergraduate studies at West Virginia University. He attended the University of Georgia where he obtained a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. Highlights of his senior year included honors and awards in orthopedic and soft tissue surgery. Dr. Yurko started practicing in Morgantown, WV, in a small animal hospital. He then moved to Wheeling, WV, where he practiced for seven years before opening K.E.Y. Animal Hospital, Inc. in the spring of 2001.

Dr. Yurko is a member of several local, state, and national organizations. He works closely with the Great Dane and Greyhound communities. He is the Veterinarian for Black Diamond/Oglebay Stables at Oglebay Park Resort. He lives with his wife Jennifer and their three daughters Sara, Karla, and Megan. He shares his home with several dogs and cats and enjoys working with the 4-H children, International Barrel Racing Association, skiing, riding his motorcycle and being with his family.

Dr. Yurko is known for his extordinary Orthopedic and Cruciate Ligament Rupture Repair Surgeries as well as Ear Cropping.

Dr.Yurko is licensed to practice in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Georgia.
